One person was arrested after leading Gretna police on a pursuit in a stolen U-Haul Sunday afternoon (Dec. 17) .
Police say the stolen U-Haul caused a six-car accident at Poydras Street and Carondelet Street during the pursuit.
The suspect was then arrested by the Gretna Police Department.
The incident started when license plate camera readers alerted one of the Gretna officers that the U-Haul pickup truck was stolen.
The officer attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle at Franklin Street and Burmaster Avenue in Gretna, but the vehicle fled and the pursuit eventually ended at Poydras and Carondelet, causing a six-car crash.
The suspect then got out of the U-Haul and fled on foot and was quickly arrested a short distance away from the crash.
According to NOPD, no one was seriously injured in the incident.
