New finance director

Will Fuentes took over as Campbell’s finance director on May 6. He will oversee a staff of eight.
Fuentes comes to Campbell from Milpitas, where he served as that city’s finance director. In his 21-year career, he has also worked as an assistant finance director for San Leandro and as a revenue and budget manager for Union City.

“We received a good number of applications from qualified candidates, but I was most impressed with Will’s experience in the field of local government finance,” said city manager Brian Loventhal. “I look forward to working with him, especially now as our city embarks on a $50 million project to improve our library and police facilities.”

Fuentes lives in Newark and has two daughters who are in middle school.

Choral concert

Artistic director Sanford Dole will lead Bay Choral Guild in the final concert of its 40th anniversary season June 7 at 8 p.m. at Campbell United Methodist Church, 1675 Winchester Blvd.

The program, “A Ruby Necklace,” will feature a cappella works from the choir’s first four decades, including Bach’s “Jesu, meine Freude,” Brahms’ “Schaffe in mir, Gott,” Dole’s “Invitation to a Voyage,” and “Bogoroditse Devo” from Rachmaninoff’s “All Night Vigil.”

Tickets are $10-$30 at https://www.baychoralguild.org. A pre-concert lecture is set for 7:30 p.m.
