GODFREY, IL (KTVI)-Breakfast wouldn’t be the same without it and now you can learn how to make it.  We’re talking about maple syrup.  On Saturday, February 13, head to LaVista CSA Farm in Godfrey, IL, where you will learn the history of and the process of making maple syrup.

The folks from The Nature Institute will lead a hike through maples trees and discuss the biology of the trees.  Then LaVista CSA Farm will demonstrate how to tap and collect the sweet water and how that becomes syrup.

The hike begins at 1:00pm at 4350 Levis Lane in Godfrey.  Be sure to dress for the weather.  Space is limited to only 30 guests.  The cost is $10 per person with proceeds benefiting The Nature Institute and LaVista.

To register, call (618) 466-9930 or email info@thenatureinstitute.org  with the names and number of those attending.
