The Georgia Bulldogs experienced some growing pains under new head coach Tom Crean this season, but there were some signs of life.

A win over Florida late in the season was a high point, even though the team finished SEC play with an abysmal 2-16 record.

However, as they prepare to build off that momentum in 2019-20, they’ll do so without a key backup. On Monday, G Teshaun Hightower tweeted his farewell to Dawg Nation. Shortly thereafter, it was reported that his name had entered the NCAA transfer portal:

Hightower was a 3-star recruit in the 2017 class. As a sophomore this year, he averaged 6.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 17.4 minutes per game. He started 17 of the 29 games he appeared in.

Where he ends up next remains to be seen, but the Georgia native will seemingly be somewhere else next fall.
