Convicted sex offender from Burnham headed back to prison for having child porn

A convicted sex offender from Burnham who was caught with child pornography will go back to prison for 15 years.

61-year-old David Cook was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Bangor.

He was arrested at his home on South Horseback Road in September of 2016 after police acted on a tip.

Court documents say investigators found 30 images of child porn on his computer.

They say Cook also searched the internet for child porn dozens of times in the months leading up to his arrest.

In 1990, Cook was convicted of rape and gross sexual misconduct with someone under fourteen and was sentenced to six years in prison.
