Coronation Street spoiler: Aidan Connor watches on in jealousy as Maria and Adam Barlow get close

In a bid to put the past couple of weeks behind her, Maria attempts to move on but the Weatherfield resident soon heads back home in a filthy mood.

Seizing an opportunity to make a move, Ken's grandson approaches the hairdresser and insists on taking her for a drink.

Elsewhere, Aidan returns to the street and spots Maria and Adam talking in the street.

But when he sees Maria lean in to kiss a delighted Adam and inviting him back to her flat, Shayne Ward's character struggles to contain his jealousy.

But why is he so envious?

Sam Robertson, who recently returned to the role of Adam Barlow, recently hinted that it wouldn't take long for Adam to find someone.

"I think Adam is very much a ladies man but he has less scruples than Daniel [Osbourne, played by Rob Mallard].

"He'd have no hesitation in trying to snare someone."

Producer Kate Oates added that Adam will be involved with "all the pretty ladies."

"It's interesting because obviously Adam has more history, so he has pre-existing relationships with quite a few people in the Street. He's got some grudges against the Connors because he's sold his section of the business to the Connor family for not a lot of money."

While fans will have to wait and see what happens between the pair, Sam explained that his character is "more fully formed."

"When the character first came to the show, no-one knew even what his second name was.

"Sometimes I’d get a script and it would be Adam Baldwin and then the next week it would be Adam Barlow.

"One minute, I think the idea was that he was going to be a bit of a cool kid, a hit with the ladies, and then the next minute he was a little bit bookish and a bit nerdy."
