The Spaniard won her first Wimbledon title at the event last year, beating Venus Williams in straight sets.

Muguruza's victory was followed up a day later by Roger Federer's final win over Marin Cilic.

The pair were pictured with their respective trophies after the event.

But Muguruza left London disappointed she didn't get to dance with Federer at the Wimbledon Champions Dinner - a tradition at the prestigious tournament.

"Of course, I wanted to dance but I got there and what I found was that there was no music and the English with a serious face," she told Spanish outlet Marca.

I wanted to make some joke with Roger, I would have been delighted

"I did not really know if there was music or what before going to dinner.

"I wanted to make some joke with Roger, I would have been delighted.

"In the end nothing to do with what I imagined.

"Yes, all elegant, as is Wimbledon but little chatter."

While Federer's glittering career is coming to an end, Muguruza still has years ahead of her at the age of 24.

But the world No 3 admits she does not want to play into her late 30's like the Swiss star.

"With my style of play and my physique I do not know if my body will hold so much," she continued.

"At that age I would prefer to make another kind of life."
