California Fires: Oregon Humane Society Gets 22 Cats For Adoption

The Oregon Humane Society is bringing 22 cats from Chico up to Portland to offer for adoption. They're from shelters there that need room.

PORTLAND, OR – They are 22 cats and they are on their way to Portland to find forever homes. The Oregon Humane Society has a van driving back from Chico, CA where the cats had been in the Butte Humane Society.

Officials say that the shelter there needed to make room and free up resources for pets and pet owners who have been displaced by the devastating fires there that have displaced thousands of people.

When the extent of the destruction started to become clear, the Oregon Humane Society reached out to several shelters in the area, offering to help.
