Pine Plains Man Uses Hammer In Domestic Assault

Nurses at a hospital alerted the state police of the possible domestic violence.

PINE PLAINS, NY — State police troopers arrested a Pine Plains man after nurses at Northern Dutchess Hospital reported a possible victim of domestic violence July 15. Police charged James M. Macisaac, 34, of Pine Plains, with first-degree assault, a felony.

State police said their investigation found the victim was assaulted with a hammer July 13 by Macisaac in Pine Plains.

He was then located at his residence on Church Street, where he was arrested.

Macisaac was arraigned in the Town of Hyde Park Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond

His next court appearance will be July 19 in the Town of Pine Plains Court.
