A missing California State University, Northridge student's body has been found in Palm Desert, according to a release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Abdullah Abdullatif Alkadi's body was found at about 11:50 p.m. Thursday night alongside the 10 Freeway in Palm Desert, according to an LAPD release.

Alkadi, 23, was last seen on Sept. 17 around noon at his home, according to the LAPD release. He was a full-time Cal State Northridge student, and his family was "extremely concerned for his welfare."

Alkadi had been planning to sell his car to a man from Craigslist when he went missing, KPCC media partner NBC L.A. reports, but police say they contacted the buyer and determined there was no connection to Alkadi's disappearance, according to the Associated Press.
