"Three Or Four Story Tall" Fire Destroys Garage Near Longmont

No one was injured, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO -- Firefighters successfully extinguished a blaze near Longmont that 911 callers said reached "25 feet" tall on Saturday morning. A detached two-car garage in the 1200 block of Linda Vista Drive was considered a total loss and a pickup truck suffered extensive damage, however a chicken coop and its residents were unharmed and no other injuries were reported, according to a release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

At about 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, several witnesses called 911 to report a fire at the residential/agricultural property in unincorporated Boulder County just outside of Longmont. Firefighters and personnel from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Longmont Police Department, Mountain View Fire, and Longmont Fire were on the scene and the flames were extinguished within 20 minutes.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but early reports note that it may have been sparked by a wood-burning stove used the night before.
