Charlotte Gainsbourg covers Kanye West’s ‘Runaway’

The songwriter covered Kanye’s track from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Charlotte Gainsbourg covered Kanye West’s ‘Runaway’ on French television show Taratata.

The actress and singer chose to cover the track from West’s 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Instead of rapping, Gainsbourg whispered West’s lyrics.

You can watch a video of the performance on Taratata’s website.

Daughter of English actress Jane Birkin and French singer and songwriter Serge Gainsbourg, Charlotte recently released her first album in seven years, Rest.

Despite disappearing from social media again earlier this month, Kanye West recently made a surprise performance alongside Kid Cudi in Los Angeles. The pair performed Life of Pablo track ‘Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1.’

Earlier this month it was also reported that Kanye West and Solange Knowles are both reportedly being sued for allegedly ripping off a song by Prince Phillip Mitchell.

Mitchell, aka Leroy Mitchell, has apparently claimed that both artists have sampled his 1970 track ‘If We Can’t Be Lovers’ without permission.

The songs alleged to have used the samples without authorisation are Kanye’s ‘Everything I Am’ from 2007’s ‘Graduation’ and Solange’s ‘F**k the Industry’.
