This class will explain the basics of what essential oils are, how to use essential oils safely, and finally how to figure out which oils would be best for you. You will have the opportunity to smell different oils and ask questions about them.

Interested in learning yoga, but have difficulty getting down on the floor? Now you too can enjoy all the benefits of yoga without having to get on a mat. You will learn many yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation while seated in a chair. The class will be taught by Danielle Meany, RYT. All levels welcome. No experience or equipment is necessary.

Thursday, May 18 @ 7 pmCalled to Duty: The Civil War Training Camps of New Jersey

This documentary tells the story of the recruiting process of the Federal Army, circa 1862. While the story could apply to any Northern State, this film focuses on Monmouth County’s Camp Vredenburgh and the 14th NJ Volunteer Infantry. This production was recorded on location at significant historical sites throughout New Jersey and at the Hanover Junction Train Station in Pennsylvania. While scenes were outlined and narration was scripted, all conversational dialogue is improvised, showing the historic caliber of the living historians and actors.

Tom Burke, author and producer, will introduce the film and conduct a Q & A after the film, which runs about 35 minutes.

Broadway performer, Karen Luschar, will be performing songs from over 30 Broadway shows. The concert presents the heartbeat of classic Broadway which continues to capture our hearts forever with its beauty, strength and fun. It reminds us why American and British musical theatre is admired throughout the world. In addition to Broadway, Karen has performed in four solo concerts at Lincoln Center. She will be accompanied on piano by Richard Danley.

The New York Philharmonic's 174th season begins with a drum roll … then comes the famous opening chords of Grieg’s Piano Concerto. Join Music Director Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic as they open the season in style with Lang Lang, with his “charismatic stage presence, passionate playing and astounding technique” (The New York Times). The celebratory evening concludes with Beethoven's joyful Seventh Symphony. Run time is 1 hour and 18 minutes.

For this Resource Spotlight, this hands-on class will focus on using and getting the most out of Lynda.com and LearningExpress Library. With Lynda.com, you can learn technology, creative and business skills through over 5000 video courses taught by industry experts. LearningExpress Library features nearly 1,000 online tutorials, practice tests, and eBooks to help patrons of all ages.

This class is great for the beginner or experienced student as we give variations for all levels. Focusing on movement integrating breath, awareness, and alignment you will build strength, focus, flexibility, and balance for both mind and body. The class will be taught by Tula Yoga instructor, Jennifer Cavalieri. Please bring your own Yoga mat or large towel. Must be at least 18 years-old to participate.
