John Hauck

John N. Hauck, 84, Bismarck, died March 29, 2018 after having a massive stroke.

Services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday April 4, 2018, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway Bismarck, with burial to follow at the North Dakota Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Mandan.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday April 3, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 8:00 pm.

John was born May 28, 1933 in Richardton, ND to Nick and Katie Hauck. He graduated from Assumption Abby High School in Richardton. He attended Gonzaga University for one year for pre-med, then went to Western States College for chiropractic's. He was drafted and went to the army for two years. After returning from the army he moved to Denver and married Doris Elley on November 23, 1956, to that union one girl and four boys were born.

John worked in sales in Denver moving to Greeley, Colorado where he was a manager and buyer for a farm supply store. Changing careers in 1979, he attended Arizona College of Healing Science in Meza, Arizona. After graduation he went on to work in Tucson Arizona as a massage and colon therapist. In 1985 he returned to ND to enjoy the four seasons. He met his current wife, Myrna Lundgren, in Bismarck. They married, June 28, 1986 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kintyre, ND.

John continued his career in massage and colon therapy for 37 years, retiring at the age of 83. He was a member of the American and ND Chapter of massage Therapy Association. He served on the Gibbs Township Board for 27 years.

When John wasn't busy with his profession, he was in the garage working on his street rod collection of cars or traveling somewhere to find another car to add to his collection. He was an active member of the Classique's Car Club and The North Dakota Rough Rider Studebaker Club. His faith and church were an important part of his life. He was a member of Bismarck First Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife Myrna; children, Gwen (Roy) Hooper, Tulare CA, Jeff (Cindy), Aurora CO, Bruce Ontario CA, Todd (Selina), Grandville OH, and David, Riverside CA; eight grandchildren, Cody, Chance, Cole, Scott, Heather, Joshua, Ashley, and Philip; one great-grandchild, Adeline; four brothers, Leonard (Cynthia) Dickinson, ND, Kenneth (Debby), Golva, ND, Ray (Mary), Dilworth, MN, and Dennis (Sylvia) Dickinson, ND; mother of his children, Doris Hauck, Riverside, CA; one sister in-law and brother in-law, Joyce (Darld) Schmitz; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Katie Hauck, and in-laws, Vernon and Lois Lundgren.
