Police have charged a 22-year-old man in connection with an incident in Lipson yesterday.

There was a large police presence following reports of an altercation at a property in Salcombe Road at about 10am on Wednesday, January 3.

Officers remained on the scene until about 3pm.

A police spokesperson said: "Kamrol Hussain, aged 22, of Salcombe Road, Plymouth, was charged with assault and detained for court."

Hussain appeared at Plymouth Magistrates' court this morning, January 4, for an initial hearing and will appear back in court on February 12.

During the incident, a force spokesman said: “Police were notified at around 10am today after reports of an altercation at a property on Salcombe Road in Plymouth were received.

“Officers are currently at the scene dealing with the incident and police negotiators are also present.”

Eight police vehicles were seen outside the home yesterday lunchtime, including four vans.
