Falmouth, Hyannis Residents Charged In JFK Museum Beating

A 45-year-old woman was hospitalized with injuries to her head and face Tuesday.

HYANNIS, MA – An East Falmouth man and Hyannis woman are accused of assaulting a woman at the JFK Museum in Hyannis Tuesday. The 45-year-old West Yarmouth resident was found injured near the public restroom at the museum and was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with head and face injuries, police said.

The woman had been in an altercation with two or three people who fled before officers arrived, police said. Witnesses identified two of the attackers as 32-year-old Terry Burdick, of East Falmouth, and 27-year-old Rochelle Wood, of Hyannis, according to police.

Burdick was charged with mayhem and assault and battery resulting in serious bodily injury. Wood faces charges of mayhem, assault and battery resulting in serious bodily injury and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.

They were arraigned in Barnstable District Court.

The victim was transferred from Cape Cod Hospital to Mass. Eye and Ear, where she was listed in stable condition as of Wednesday morning, police said.
