Fans may have thought Steve Perry had stopped believin’, but after a two-decade recording hiatus, the reclusive ex-Journey singer has finally released “No Erasin’,” the lead single off his 10-song comeback album and third proper solo effort, “Traces,” due out Oct. 5.
According to Yahoo, the man who recently ranked at No. 76 on Rolling Stone’s list of Greatest Singers of All Time sounds in fine form — perhaps a bit raspier, a bit world-wearier, but still evoking Journey’s anthemic “Escape” era — on the strident, arena-ready power ballad.
Perry’s last two releases were his 1994 solo album “For the Love of Strange Medicine,” followed in 1996 by Journey’s “Trial by Fire” and the solo song “I Stand Alone” for the “Quest for Camelot” soundtrack in 1998. Since then, he has kept a low profile. In 2014, he performed onstage for the first time in 20 years, singing three songs with his friend Mark Everett’s indie-rock band Eels at a club show in St. Paul, Minn.
When he attended last year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame event, at which Journey was inducted, however, he opted not to perform with his ex-bandmates.
Priyanka Chopra shows off ring Nick Jonas bought her
Singer Nick Jonas and actress Priyanka Chopra have stayed relatively mum since their reported engagement, but it looks like the “Quantico” star is finally revealing her engagement ring. Huff Post reported that Chopra flashed a cushion-cut diamond ring on her ring finger in a picture with Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon that posted this week.
Chopra, 36, and her fiancé, the 25-year-old Jonas, got engaged in London in July after just two months of dating. Jonas reportedly shut down a Tiffany’s & Co. store to find a ring.
The two were first rumored to be dating after they attended the 2017 Met Gala in New York together. Chopra revealed why the two attended that event together during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last year.
“Are you dating Nick Jonas? Isn’t he, like, 11 years old?” the late night talk show host asked her.
“We were both wearing Ralph Lauren! And we decided to go together because it was fun,” Chopra said. “We were on the same table. We know each other so we were, like, ‘Hey you know what, let’s go together.’ And I was, like, OK. Let’s go together!’ It just ended up working out.”
In December, Jonas opened up about wanting to get married soon and eventually start a family in an interview with Women’s Health.
“I definitely think about marriage and hope that I can find somebody to spend the rest of my life with,” the singer said. “Between my oldest brother, Kevin, his wife, Danielle, and their beautiful kids, and now Joe with (fiancée) Sophie (Turner), I’ve got some really amazing extended family. My sisters-in-law set the standards pretty high. So I’ve got to find someone great.”

Ex-wife newly married, Penn cuddles with new girlfriend
Sean Penn is soaking up the sun ahead of his birthday. People magazine reported that Penn, who turns 58 on Friday, kicked off his birthday week with a trip to Hawaii with girlfriend Leila George, 26. The two were seen lounging on the beach in Oahu on Monday just a couple of days after his ex-wife, Robin Wright, married French executive Clement Giraudet. Penn and George have been dating since 2016 when they were spotted locking lips on the beach.
