Shia LaBeouf Opens Art Installation Titled #IAmSorry
No matter how much he insists that he's no longer famous, Shia LaBeouf can't seem to get out of the spotlight.
The 27-year-old actor opened an public performance art piece on Tuesday called #IAmSorry. In the Los Angeles-based art installation, LaBeouf wears a paper bag over his head that reads, "I am not famous anymore" - the same message and, reportedly, bag that he wore over his head to the German premiere for Nymphomaniac on Saturday.
"Shia LaBeouf is sorry. Sincerely sorry. He will be in situ at 7354 Beverly Boulevard for the duration. Implements will be provided. Free admission," reads the press release for the installation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the magazine, only guest is allowed into the installation at a time. When inside, guests are provided with various "implements" that are tied to LeBouf's career, including Transformers toys and a whip a la Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Crystal Skull. Then, the visitor is taken to a room where the actor sits at a table with the paper bag on his head and remains silent as guests ask him questions.
LaBeouf recently announced that he has "retired" from public life. But the actor has continued to make headlines since this declaration, including lashing out at Jim Carrey over the comedian's Golden Globes joke poking fun at LaBeouf's recent plagiarism scandal.
