No Ryan Switzers' career didn't start at Heinz Field, but it’s what he calls home right now. After bouncing from Dallas to Oakland, the Charleston, West Virginia native now calls Pittsburgh home where he hopes to be a longtime fixture with the organization.

“I'm familiar with the city and area,” Switzer said. “Being back in the east coast now is good. It's been a couple of months, so I'm alright.”

So far the Steelers seem to be a great fit. Switzer says there are many talented players who he's trying mirror. The two of whom stick out the most: quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Antonio Brown.

“Honor to be in the presence of them,” the second-year pro said. “Two hall of fame guys who offer knowledge. So being a young guy, you try to soak up information. Hopefully down the road, it makes me a better player.”

Switzer's biggest highlight with the Steelers coming in Week Three at Tampa Bay when the young receiver tiptoed the goal line after catching his first touchdown in black and gold, the game-winning score.

“Anytime you have things go your way it helps,” Switzer said. “You'd have that than negative plays. Just trying to come in and help the team.”

Now the challenge for the young pro is to keep getting better.

“Continue to hone in on the talents I've been given and make a name for me,” Switzer said. “It's a great organization. Enjoy being here and hopefully I'm here for a while.”
