Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, begins at sundown on Sept. 25 and ends at sundown on Sept. 27. One reason is it’s a wake up call to change behaviors from negative to positive in the new year. In the file photo, Rabbi Joseph Mendelsohn of Reform Temple of Laguna Woods, blows a shofar.
