YORK, Pa. — The Captains’ 11-game winning streak ended in an epic loss to the Spartans, who extended their winning streak to eight.

Both teams are 18-5, 7-1 in the Capital Athletic Conference. If both teams win their remaining two games, a coin flip will decide which team would be the CAC tournament’s top seed and, therefore, be at home if they advance through the bracket to meet again for the championship.

York’s Jared Wagner, an All-America candidate, scored a career-high 38 points on his Senior Day. He raced for a long rebound after CNU missed a potential tying 3-pointer and sank a clinching free throw.

CNU battled back from a 16-point first-half deficit to force overtime, hitting 9 of 14 3-point tries in the second 20 minutes.

Luther Gibbs scored 18 points, Keyshawn Jefferson 17, Adrian Beasley 16 and Cutch Ellis 15 for CNU, which shot 41.9% (31 of 74) from the field, including 40% (16 of 40) from 3-point range. Five Captains fouled out: Ellis, Nick Parks, Jason Aigner, Gibbs and Dalon McHugh.
