A Las Vegas woman was killed and multiple people injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday when a driver suspected of being impaired hit a median and entered oncoming traffic, according to Metro Police.
Tierra Richardson, 23, was driving south on Fort Apache Road near Red Hills Road about 11 a.m. when she hit the median and entering the northbound lanes, police said.
A pickup truck collided with the car, which then crashed into a sports car, police said.
The 50-year-old woman driving the sports car was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Three people from Bakersfield, Calif., including two children, were in the pickup truck and were taken to a hospital with reported minor injuries, police said.
A 24-year-old Las Vegas man riding in Richardson’s car was taken to UMC with critical injuries, police said.
Richardson was also taken to the hospital with reported minor injuries, police said. She exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested on DUI counts, police said. She was being held without bail Friday.
The collision remains under investigation.
