Election 2022: Semi-final results for Valley races from Agoura Hills to San Fernando

Voters in Burbank, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Malibu and more, chose city council members on Nov. 8

Voters in several cities in and around the San Fernando Valley cast ballots on Tuesday, Nov. 8, for city council candidates.

Below is a roundup of how those cities’ races are shaping up, based on semi-official returns from the L.A. County registrar’s office.

Agoura Hills: In the race for three council seats, incumbent Deborah Klein Lopez had 28.65%. Fellow incumbent Chris Anstead was in third with 21.97%, behind Jeremy Wolf, a policymaker and planning commissioner, with 27.56%.

Burbank:  In the race for three council seats, Nikki Perez had 23.71% followed by Burbank City Clerk Zizette Mullins with 21.91% and incumbent Sharon Springer with 21.11%.

Calabasas: In the race for three council seats, incumbents James R. Bozajian and David J. Shapiro had 29.88% and 28.40%, respectively. Financial advisor Edward Albrecht had 16.52%.

Hidden Hills: In the race for three council seats, incumbent Laura McCorkindale got 31.267% followed by businessmen Joe Loggia, who garnered 28.67%, and Bret Katz at 20.13%.

Malibu: In the race for two council seats, entrepreneur Doug Stewart had 21.11%, municipal employee Marianne Riggins had 20.35%, Bill Sampson had 20.27%, entrepreneur Hap Henry had 16.04%, journalist Ryan Embree had 9.71% and attorney Jimy Tallal had 6.51%.

Palmdale: One winner per district. In District 3, Councilwoman Laura Bettencourt had 46.95%, while Dave Gomez had 30.71% and Marcos T. Alvarez had 22.88%. In District 4, business owner Eric Ohlsen had 47.55%, V. Jesse Smith had 27.53% and Getro F. Elize had 24.92%. In District 5, voting rights attorney Andrea Alarcon had 59.60%, Erika Gloria Alverdi had 23.77% and Mario Moises Melara had 16.63%.

San Fernando: In the race for three council seats, real estate professional Joel Fajardo had 26.87%, incumbent Mary Mendoza 21.26%, Mary Solorio 17.99%, incumbent Sylvia Ballin 17.65%, and attorney Victoria Garcia 16.23%.

Santa Clarita: In the race for three council seats, incumbent Lauren Weste, Bill Miranda and Marsha McLean, led with 20.20%, 20.30% and 17.22%, respectively. Denise Lite had 15.63%, Jeffrey Malick had 7.84%, Douglas Fraser had 2.43%, Selina M. Thomas had 8.21% and Kody Amour 1.12%.

Westlake Village: In this race for three council seats, incumbents Brad Halpern, Susan McSweeney and Ray Pearl had 28.23%, 23.84% and 23.27%, respectively. Businessman Marc Bakerman had 13.44% and retired law enforcement employee Pam Johnson had 11.02%.
