Montgomery County police are investigating after a woman was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday near railroad tracks in Gaithersburg, Md. The incident caused delays for rail commuters during the morning rush.

Officers responded about 6:45 a.m. to South Summit Avenue at Wells Avenue for the report of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian, Montgomery police said in a statement. They found that 52-year-old Li Zhang of North Potomac, Md., had been struck by a 2011 Nissan Rogue while crossing South Summit Avenue, the statement said.
