BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — LIV Golf is bringing several golf stars back to Oklahoma in 2023.

The relatively new tour is expected to hold an event at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Broken Arrow as a part of its slate of U.S. stops throughout the year. The competition will run May 12-14.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt released a statement Wednesday in reaction to the announcement:

“I am glad that Cedar Ridge Country Club has been selected as one of three new U.S. championship venues to host a LIV Golf League tournament next May. Oklahoma’s golf courses are among the best in the world and we welcome the surge in economic activity hosting this tournament will bring to the Tulsa region and the state.”

The LIV Golf tour features multiple players who've played collegiate golf in the Sooner State including former Sooner Abraham Ancer and former Oklahoma State Cowboys Eugenio Chacarra, Talor Gooch, Charles Howell and Matthew Wolff. Other players on the tour like Phil Mickelson have their fair share of history playing in Oklahoma at Southern Hills Country Club which has hosted multiple major tournaments on the PGA Tour.
