Warsaw’s Stereo art space wins International Gallery Prize

One of Poland’s leading art spaces has been awarded with this year’s International Gallery Prize.

The Stereo gallery in Warsaw was given the accolade along with Mexico’s Parallel Oaxaca. The prize is an annual award by given by New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) to art galleries outside the US. The group promotes and supports new contemporary artists, painters and architects by organizes annual fairs and exhibitions in New York. The fair’s 2018 edition will take place on 8 March, where both galleries will be presenting new works.

Among the artists appearing will be Stereo Warsaw’s Jakub Czyszczoń, a Polish artist best known for his shifting, multi-layered works, created from pressed layers of paper, dust, newspapers and leaves. He will be exhibiting alongside Israel-based artist Noa Glazer, who held a joint exhibition with Czyszczoń in at Stereo Warsaw last year.

“The International Gallery Prize was designed as a platform to support NADA’s global community and spotlight international gallery programs for the public during the fairs”, Heather Hubbs, NADA’s executive director, said in a statement. “We are proud to welcome Parallel Oaxaca and Stereo to participate in NADA New York for the first time.”
