STATEN ISLAND -- Timothy J. O'Sullivan Jr., 54, of South Canaan, Pa., a Staten Island native and former postal worker, died Thursday at home of kidney cancer.

Born in Annadale, Mr. O'Sullivan moved with his family to South Canaan when he was 10 years old.

A graduate of Honesdale (Pa.) High School, Mr. O'Sullivan worked at the Lake Ariel, Pa., Post Office for 25 years.

"Timmy enjoyed spending time at the ponds on his property, attending concerts and having a few beers with family and friends," his family said. "He loved his dogs, Minnie and Winnie. Timmy will always be remembered for his quick wit, his jovial and adventurous personality, good nature and generosity to family and friends."

Mr. O'Sullivan's family said he was thankful for the care of Dr. Naomi Hass and the staff of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he participated in an 18-month clinical trial for the treatment of advanced kidney cancer.

Mr. O'Sullivan is survived by his father, Timothy Sr.; his brother, William; his  sisters, Kathleen Warner, Eileen O'Sullivan and Nancy Baudendistel, and his stepmother, Shirley Macking O'Sullivan.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel. Arrangements include cremation.
