R.I. Real Estate Notes: Narragansett property sold for $2.5M

A house at 78 Calef Ave., in Narragansett, recently sold for $2.5 million, according to Lila Delman Real Estate International.

Seller Joseph Signorile was represented by Ruth Bellino of the Delman agency. The buyer was represented by Steve McGill of Waterfront Properties.

The house is on 0.46 acres with panoramic ocean views. The 3,010-square-foot house has three bedrooms, three and one-half baths, a fireplace and multiple decks.

PPS party a first

The Providence Preservation Society held its 60th anniversary gala on Nov. 4 at South Street Landing's Turbine Hall. PPS said it was the first private fundraiser to be held at the newly opened building.

Quonny property sells for $1.6M

A property in Charlestown's Quonochontaug neighborhood was sold for $1.610 million on Dec. 1.

Lori Joyal of Lila Delman Real Estate International handled both sides of the transaction for 485 A & B West Beach Rd. The seller was Lawrence LeBlanc and the buyer was Rebel Redoubt LLC, a company with an address in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Located on more than two acres, the 7,069-square-foot main house has four bedrooms, five full and two half bathrooms.

The property also includes a guest house, which was originally part of the dance hall for the Sea Breeze Inn, the agency said. Originally, an inn called the Kenyon House was on the property, and in 1940 it was purchased by Otto and Mimi Nurmi of Westerly, who reopened it as the Sea Breeze Inn.

The Kenyon House had a separate building with a bowling alley and a dance hall, which was destroyed in the Hurricane of 1938. The Nurmis built a new dance hall for the Sea Breeze in its place.

East Side home sells for $1.36M

A brick Georgian Colonial at 88 East Orchard Ave. sold on Nov. 30 for $1.36 million.

The sale was handled by Jim DeRentis and Gerri Schiffman, both of Residential Properties Ltd. The seller was Heidi Janes and the buyers were Laura Stanton and Craig Hopkins.

The house sits on a private tree-lined lot that abuts the woods of Blackstone Park. The central kitchen has stone countertops, a built-in range with stainless steel appliances, and ample work space. The family room has atrium doors that step out to a stone patio overlooking a city garden with walking paths leading to multiple flower beds and mature plantings.

Benefit St. house sold for $1.19M

A home at 368 Benefit St., in Providence's College Hill neighborhood, sold on Nov. 30 for $1.19 million.

The seller of the historical William Ashton Jr. House, interior designer Courtney Taylor, was represented by Heidi Farmer Piccerelli of Mott & Chace Sotheby's International Realty. The buyer, Robert R. Petrocelli of Westerly, was represented by Toby Kimball of Residential Properties Ltd.
