HILLSBORO, Ill. (WICS) — A former Hillsboro Police Sergeant is facing two criminal charges of lewd or lascivious molestation and lewd or lascivious conduct.
Both charges are second-degree felonies.
Illinois State Police say on Feb. 16 around 7:54 am a state police trooper initiated a traffic stop on Kelly L. Brewer, 49, at the intersection of Illinois Route 127 and Barry Hope Trail in Montgomery County.
State police placed Brewer under arrest on a warrant out of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.

Brewer was a canine handler and held the rank of Sergeant.
