Italian agent Oscar Damiani says Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is ‘better than George best’ and hopefully ‘he doesn’t have the same mindset.’
The famous Italian football agent spoke about the Napoli and Georgia star in an interview with 1 Station Radio in Italy.
“George Best was a fantastic footballer who made history for his national team. However, I feel Kvaratskhelia has something more. Perhaps, the Georgian is more physical.
“I could use a mean joke, hopefully, he [Kvara] doesn’t have the same mindset.”
Kvaratskhelia, 22, has taken Serie A by storm in his first season in Italy, scoring 14 goals and delivering 16 assists in 30 matches across all competitions this term.
He moved to the Stadio Maradona for only €10m from Dinamo Batumi last summer and Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is determined to offer him a new contract to tempt him away from Real Madrid and PSG, two of the European giants linked with securing his services in the summer.
His current deal at the Stadio Maradona expires in June 2027.
Manchester United legend George Best scored 179 goals in 470 matches with the Red Devils from 1963 until 1973. He died on November 25, 2005, aged 59.
