Braxton Berrios Released by New York Jets

Former Miami Hurricane Braxton Berriors no longer with Jets.

One of the more clutch players to wear a Miami Hurricanes uniform in recent years would be wide receiver Braxton Berrios

He was at Miami from 2014 through 2017. He caught 97 passes for 1,121 yards and 14 touchdowns. Berrios took his talents to the National Football League afterwards.

The New England Patriots selected him in the 6th round with the 210th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was only a Patriot for one season prior to moving down to New York to play for the Jets.

The best season in New York for Berrios was 2021. He caught 46 passes for 438 yards, averaging 9.4 per reception, and two touchdowns.

This past season, however, saw Berrios drop down to 18 receptions for 145 yards, averaging 8.1 yards per catch, and not scoring a touchdown. He became less of a need for the Jets.

Berrios would seem to still have options after being a quality slot receiver throughout his NFL career. While not with a team right now, look for the former Hurricane and Jet to end up on another roster for the 2023 NFL season.
