Florida PolyCon, celebration of 'geek culture,' returns March 18 in Lakeland

Florida Polytechnic University will host Florida PolyCon, a daylong event created to celebrate “geek culture,” on March 18.

The event is a celebration of comics, anime, videogames and science fiction and is open to the public.  The event, run and led by students, will feature such activities as archery tag, axe throwing, arcade games, cosplay, panels, food trucks and more. It will close with fireworks on campus.

Florida PolyCon starts at 10 a.m. at 4700 Research Way in Lakeland. Admission is $30 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 12 and for ages 65 and older. For more information and tickets, search for Florida PolyCon at https://floridapoly.edu.
