Person struck by NJ Transit train in Warren County, police say

A New Jersey Transit train hit and injured a pedestrian Wednesday morning in Warren County, authorities said.

NJ Transit said a female pedestrian was struck at about 8:27 a.m. east of High Street in Hackettstown by a Montclair-Boonton Line train #1074.

The train had just left the Hackettstown station at 8:24 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 10:30 a.m.

The female was injured, but NJ Transit said the extent of her injuries was not known. Hackettstown police said the person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

There were four passengers as well as crew on board at the time, and none of them were injured.

New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.

High Street was open to traffic as first responders were at the scene. Train #1074 was cancelled following the collision.
