MUSIC ON THE GRILL

Jaclyn Guillou received the CBC Galaxie Rising Star award in 2009 and hasn’t stopped since, touring throughout Europe, the U.S. and Canada. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are at 604-927-6555 or www.evergreenculturalcentre.ca; the lobby bar opens at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 6:30 p.m.

IN ‘N’ OUT
It’s better than the burger — it’s the Port Moody Film Society’s annual indoor/outdoor feature night. Get to the PoMo Inlet Theatre for the indoor 7:30 p.m. showing of The 100-Year-Old Man, a Swedish comedy about the eclectic Allan Karlsson, who on his 100th birthday leaps out of his nursing home window to embark on a great adventure. PARK MUSIC
Make another trip to Leigh Square this afternoon for the Music in the Park show from 2 to 4 p.m. On the line-up is Hawking, a progressive indie rock foursome from Vancouver. SUMMER SUNDAY
Rocky Point Park will be fired up with the sound of the R&B Allstars at the 2 p.m. show. Rarely is this band not described as legendary, and it seems their fellow musicians would agree — they’ve shared the stage with the likes of James Brown, Chuck Berry, the Allman Brothers and Long John Baldry.
