Tire collection scheduled in Schuylkill Haven

The Schuylkill Conservation District is hosting a free passenger car and light truck tire collection at Compost Park on St. Charles Street in Schuylkill Haven. The site is at the end of the road next to the wastewater plant.

No tires will be accepted without an approved dropoff. Dropoffs will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please email kschutt@co.schuylkill.pa.us to schedule. Leave a message with your name, phone number, number of tires, and date/time you wish
to drop off. The Conservation District will contact you.

Dropoffs must be scheduled by Wednesday, June 7. Tires will not be accepted if you do not schedule a dropoff. Dropoff dates and times are June 12-14 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Note the following rules:

• Tires with rims will not be accepted; all tires shall be free of dirt, water, and foreign objects. Tires shall not be deformed and must have the normal geometry of a typical tire.

• Tires will not be accepted without preregistration for a dropoff.

• There is one dropoff per person and a 30-tire maximum.

• This is a free event. Due to limited funding, appointments will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Semi-Truck tires will only be accepted under special circumstance.

• Tires cannot be taller than 4 feet or wider than 14 inches.

• The conservation district, its partners and volunteers reserve the right to reject any and all tires that do not meet the guidelines.
