ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has taken his party’s election campaign to Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape.

This was his first visit to the area as ANC President, since his election in December 2017.

Ramaphosa said improvements have to be made to the quality of basic education in the country.

The ANC leader also told supporters that the ANC will revitalise industries in the region and create jobs.

“We have set aside money to revamp our industrial parks around the country and we have a few of them here. The infrastructure is here, there are buildings and we have a number of entrepreneurs that just need some boost to be able to operate and restart businesses and produce some new products.”
