The City of Kyle wants you to come down to Texas on Sunday; especially if your name is Kyle.

Kyle, Texas, 20 miles from Austin, Texas, is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people with the same first name on May 21.

This will be the city’s fourth attempt at breaking the record.

“Tall Kyles, short Kyles, young Kyles and old Kyles are all needed,” the City of Kyle said in a Facebook post promoting the event.

What is the world record for largest gathering of people with the same first name?

Bosnia and Herzegovina currently holds the record for largest gathering of people with the same first name after 2,325 people named Kupreški kosci gathered on July 30, 2017.

What's the verification process?

All eligible Kyles will be asked to sign in at a VIP tent where they will need to verify if they are truly a Kyle.

In order to qualify for the Guinness World Record, all participants must spell their name ‘Kyle.’ Other variations of the name and those who have ‘Kyle’ as a middle or last name won’t be accepted.

All eligible Kyles must provide proof of identification, which can also be a student ID. If the participant is too young to have an ID, a parent or guardian can vouch for them as long as they show their ID.

Participants must also provide an address and an email or phone number, including parents or guardians who vouch for a participant.

When is the gathering of Kyles?

The event will take place on May 21 at 4 p.m. local time at Lake Kyle Park in Kyle, Texas.
