LSU star and rapper Flau’jae Johnson questions why she didn’t make a cameo in Latto and Cardi B’s “Put It On The Floor Again” video. Johnson discussed her exclusion from the video with Baller Alert.

According to Johnson, the “Lottery” rapper contacted her about being in the video.

“Latto, she hit me about it the day before,” she said. “She said, ‘I want you to be in the video.’ I was like, ‘I’m in L.A. right now. But yeah, we can make it happen.’ But we didn’t make it happen. Her people never hit my people.”

Johnson said she was happy to see her teammate, Angel Reese, was able to link up with Latto and Cardi B.

The LSU guard believes Latto wasn’t trying to have her in the video, and even suggests that the rapper possibly felt obligated to offer a cameo due to their “The Rap Game” TV show history.

“I seen she had asked Angel like a week before,” Johnson said. “I was like, ‘OK, maybe she ain’t really want me in the video for real, but she had to ask ’cause we kinda had a relationship before, and she put Angel in it.’ I didn’t really care because Angel was in it, and that was a big moment for women’s basketball. And at the same time, why wouldn’t you put me in it? It just made sense.”

Latto released the video for “Put It On Da Floor Again” featuring Cardi B. earlier this month. One of Cardi B’s verses referenced the LSU women’s basketball team, which won the NCAA championship in April.

Flau’jae Johnson As A Rapper

Johnson was an aspiring rapper before she was named the 2023 SEC Freshman of the Year and helped the Tigers win the NCAA championship. She told USA TODAY that she’s been rapping since childhood. Johnson was a contestant on season three of “The Rap Game” and was featured twice on “America’s Got Talent.”

At 17, Johnson inked a deal with Roc Nation because Jermaine Jackson was recruiting for an AAU team and had connections to the label. When LSU won it’s first women’s title, it boosted Johnson’s streams.
