Sterling Livestock Commission was established in 1958 by the Van Berg Family. Sterling Livestock Commission is still family owned and operated – Jim, Becky, Jenny (daughter), Jason (son), Dylan, Hunter, Austin (grandsons) Rylyn, and Adyson (granddaughters).

Sterling Livestock knows that your livestock are your livelihood. They strive to market your livestock in a professional manner while getting you top dollar for them. In the office, you will find Becky, Jenny, Rylyn, Ady, and Camille. Jim, Jason, and Hunter handle the auctioneering, bid catching and the penning sheet. Ronnie and Craig work the ring and help catch bids. Camille handles the clerking during the sales. Dylan, Hunter, Austin, and Justin run the yards and handle pen back, sorting and bringing the cattle into the ring along with the rest of the amazing crew at Sterling Livestock.

The restaurant/café was also established in 1958. Deanie Van Berg manages the café along with her and Becky’s sisters Deb and Cindy. In the restaurant, there are other wonderful people that help on sale day with waitressing, cooking and serving. Homemade lunch specials, burgers, fries and homemade pies are availableevery Wednesday (that they have a sale). After a fine meal step out into the ring to place your bid or follow it live on your electronic device.

Sterling Livestock Commission offers flexibility in marketing your livestock with video and country salesalong with their traditional marketing facility. Sterling Livestock can also provide you with their expertise in estate sales, machinery sales, and open consignment sales.

Well-known auctioneer Jim Santomaso has auctioneered from 1971 to the present. Jim has won numerous awards with son Jason and grandson Hunter following in his footsteps.
