BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A 37-year-old Absarokee man has admitted he served as a courier in a large drug conspiracy, bringing 178 pounds of methamphetamine to a Montana dealer and running an estimated $1.4 million in proceeds to a supplier in Arizona.
The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/293Pal7 ) Brett Wade Clouse pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiracy to possess meth for distribution and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Clouse faces a minimum mandatory five-year prison sentence with the possibility of up to 40 years. A sentencing date has not been set.
Prosecutors say Clouse ran drugs for Merrill Clark Gardner of Fishtail in a conspiracy that ran from January 2012 to October 2015. Gardiner has pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge and faces sentencing on July 28.
