Charged with murder in the fatal shooting of his wife at High Point High School on Thursday afternoon, Eulalio Sevilla Tordil had a protective order issued against him, according to media reports.

Tordil, 62, of Adelphi, is now suspected in shootings Friday morning after a gunman opened fire at the Westfield Montgomery Mall, wounding three, then shot to death a woman at Giant Foods in Silver Spring. Montgomery County Police has identified Tordil as a person of interest in the shootings.

He was an employee with Federal Protective Service, according to Prince George's County Police. Tordil's wife, Gladys Tordil, 44, was found in her SUV at the high school. Police say her husband shot her several times following an argument. She died at the scene.

Prince George’s County Police charged Tordil with first-degree murder and related charges in connection with the fatal shooting of his estranged wife. He’s also charged with assault for shooting the Good Samaritan at the school who tried to intervene in the couple's argument.

Court records and social media say Gladys Tordil was a chemistry teacher at Parkdale High School in Riverdale. She is survived by two daughters, Grace and Nikki Tordil, who are both seniors at High Point and plan to attend college in the fall.

Friends of the victim have set up a GoFundMe fundraiseronline to help the surviving girls continue their education.

The information about the family says, in part:

"The High Point High School community in Beltsville, Maryland, is gathering together to help fund the education for Grace and Nikki Tordil. Grace and Nikki’s mother, a Chemistry teacher at Parkdale High School, was shot and killed in the school parking lot on May 5, 2016. Mrs. Tordil was her daughters’ primary financial support system.

Grace and Nikki, both seniors at High Point High School, are outstanding students and are set to attend the University of Maryland Baltimore County and the University of Maryland College Park in fall. They need our help to attain their educational goals.

The man who tried to help Gladys Tordils was also shot and taken to a hospital. His injury is not considered life-threatening, police say.

Following a March court order in a custody case, Eulalio Tordil turned over his federally issued service weapon, as well as six other firearms, according to WTOP.

He was also told to stay away from his wife, her home and her workplace, which WTOP identifies as Parkdale High School.

Investigators say Eulalio Tordil followed his wife onto school property when she went to pick up her children, who attend High Point High School. Tordil got out of his car and confronted Gladys Tordil as she sat in her vehicle.

Authorities say Eulalio Tordil first shot the good Samaritan, and then Gladys Tordil multiple times.

Police Chief Hank Stawinski said there was never a shooter inside the school and no students were hurt. The violence was a “sad, sad case of domestic violence,” he said.

Several witnesses – both adults and students – saw the argument and shooting. There is also video footage of the shooting, Stawinski said, which detectives are reviewing.
