This exhibition is a retrospective of 34 prints and posters created by artists and poets through the local nonprofit Art in Common Places Places. In the early 1960s, Cuban parents sent more than 14,000 unaccompanied children to the U.S. in the hopes their offspring would escape indoctrination by Fidel Castro’s new government. Leymis Bolaños Wilmott’s parents were part of the exodus known as Operación Pedro Pan. In “Cuban Project: Historias,” Bolaños Wilmott explores the experiences of her family and others.
