Cannibal Corpse Get Extra Bloody in the “Chaos Horrific” Music Video

0

Today finally marks the official release of Cannibal Corpse‘ latest album Chaos Horrific and to celebrate the occasion, the band put out the title track with its music video. As you should probably expect from the death metal outfit by now, the video is definitely not safe for work at all.

For those of us not working in a stuffy cubicle (or those that waited to check it out after the fact), the video is straight out of classic grindcore horror flicks with some The Walking Dead sprinkled in. Lots of violence, lots of death, lots of zombie murder — all backed by a crushingly heavy track from the Florida-based outfit.

Not only is today’s release the band’s 16th studio album, but 2023 also marks 35 years as a band. To that end, guitarist Erik Rutan said it was an “amazing feat” that the group’s been around as long as it has.

“I think it’s such an amazing feat. It speaks to the work ethic and dedication that everyone has put into Cannibal Corpse. When you think about how many bands never make it a decade, let alone three plus, it is such a testament to the creativity aspect and determination and loyalty toward what we do.”

As for the video itself, it was directed by David Brodsky and produced by Allison Woest, both of My Good Eye: Music Visuals, which explains why it looks so damn good. Drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz said the violence portrayed in the video makes perfect sense, since the song is, “This song is “about fighting for your life from a zombie attack. An axe, a knife, a machete. Whatever it takes to kill these things.”

Chaos Horrific is out now wherever you get your music. The band is also gearing up for a tour with Mayhem, Gorguts, and Blood Incantation. You can find the dates for those shows below.
