Last spring, Boris Pelekh brought his ever-evolving musical project Boris and The Joy to Bend's Silver Moon Brewing.
At the time, he told The Bulletin this:
“I want Boris and The Joy to be a completely full-spectrum experience and my shows are exactly that. They can be quiet and fragile one minute and then get huge and screaming and joyful, and then very solemn and quiet again."
One could describe Pelekh's 2022 EP, "I See It Now," the same way. Though it's just five tracks long, it bounces around from soft, reflective folk to radiant pop to raucous synth-rock. Heck, one could also describe Pelakh's career that way, too. He is classically trained, led the long-running rock band Hey Guy, worked as the musical director for the Nickelodeon pop duo Nat and Alex Wolff and played guitar in the well-known folk-punk Gogol Bordello.
In other words, the guy has always been a full-spectrum experience. He'll return to Silver Moon this weekend.
Boris and The Joy: 7 p.m. Friday, $10, Silver Moon Brewing, 24 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend, silvermoonbrewing.com.
