‘Jingle Bell Jam’ to feature array of holiday activities in City Park on Dec. 9

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the debut of The Jingle Bell Jam on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Veterans Building in City Park. This event is sponsored by the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Foundation and will include many free activities for youth and families to enjoy.

Scheduled activities include the following:

  • Kids and Family Recreational Activities from 2 to 5 p.m. Join in the atrium and patio of the Veterans Building for some free family activities, including holiday and winter-themed arts and crafts, music, and recreational games. There will be cookie decorating stations and free hot chocolate while supplies last, sponsored by the Bowling Green Parks & Recreation Foundation.
  • Jingle Bell Story Time at 2 p.m. with the Wood County District Public Library.
  • Santa Claus visit from 3 to 4 p.m. Santa will drop in for a brief visit, so be sure to arrive early to catch him while he is in town.
  • Musical performances starting at 3 p.m. Many young talented voices from Bowling Green City Schools will add holiday cheer to the festivities with their caroling, as members of the Elementary School Choir, the Bobcat Beats, and the Madrigals will be in attendance singing familiar favorites.
  • Jingle Bell Jog at 4 p.m. Put on your jingle bells to help set the mood and join others from the community for a holiday-themed 1 Mile Race/Run around City Park. The event is free for everyone to participate in, but participants must check in and register. Race day registration and check-in will open at 3:15 p.m. in the lobby area inside the Veteran’s Building at City Park. The run/walk will begin at 4 p.m. and consist of two laps around City Park for a total of one mile. There will be prizes for top finishers in different age groups.
