Teenager charged with assaulting another youth at Juvenile Residential Center in BG

A 16-year-old was arrested for beating up another boy, Friday around 10 p.m., at the Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio, 1012 S. Dunbridge Road, Bowling Green.

Bowling Green Police were called to the facility after the teenager, from Port Clinton, allegedly assaulted the other boy.

The teen told police that the other boy called him names and labeled him as “Sweet.” The teen told police that he struck the other boy a few times. The injured teen was taken to Wood County Hospital by Bowling Green EMS.

A video of the incident reportedly showed the offender striking the other boy six times in the face and head with a closed fist. When the boy dropped to the floor, the teen allegedly kicked him three times in the head and once in the back, then struck him three more times to the face and head with a closed fist. The video reportedly showed the teen then kicking the victim four more times.

BG Police charged the 16-year-old with assault and took him to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.
