Quick Takeaways

Brock Purdy narrowly missed securing a spot among the top five highest-graded offensive 49ers players, earning an overall grade of 77.4. The second-year quarterback completed 19 of 27 pass attempts (70.4 percent) for a career-high 368 yards, adding two touchdowns and achieving a passer rating of 122.1. He has maintained a grade of 72.7 or higher in each of his past six games. Notably, Purdy is currently averaging 9.9 yards per pass attempt, the highest of any qualifying quarterback in 67 years, per Pro Football Reference.

Despite rushing for 145 yards on 16 carries, averaging an impressive 9.1 yards per carry, running back Christian McCaffrey also narrowly missed the top five, earning the seventh-highest overall grade (74.8) among his offensive teammates. McCaffrey's overall grade of 91.3 for the season is a career-high, and his run grade of 91.0 is significantly higher than any previous mark (the next highest was 82.1 in 2022).

Center Jon Feliciano claimed the highest overall grade of the game at 91.4. This marked the offensive lineman's career-high grade, supported by an impressive 93.3 run-blocking grade. Feliciano allowed two pressures to the Seahawks.

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk registered six receptions for 126 yards, giving him a career-high 1,053 receiving yards on the season. This marks the second season of his career with 1,000 or more receiving yards, with the last occurring in 2022. Aiyuk became the first 49ers wide receiver to earn back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons since Anquan Boldin did so in 2013 and 2014. Aiyuk's 90.0 overall grade is the receiver's highest since Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals (93.4). That mark would have been higher if not for a lost fumble in the fourth quarter.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel and tight end George Kittle tied for the third-highest offensive grade (83.5) among their teammates. Samuel finished the game with seven receptions for 149 yards and one touchdown through the air, adding one touchdown on the ground. Kittle racked up three receptions for 76 yards and one touchdown, marking his sixth of the season.

Tackle Colton McKivitz earned a career-high overall grade of 81.3, boosted by a 90.5 run-blocking grade.

On the defensive side of the ball, rookie safety Ji'Ayir Brown claimed the highest grade of the game with an 88.3 mark, setting a career-high for the first-year defender. Brown finished the game with six tackles, an interception, and a pass defensed. His 81.2 coverage grade was second only to cornerback Deommodore Lenoir (game-high 86.3) among 49ers players. Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock owned a passer rating of 16.7 when targeting Brown.

Lenoir, surrendering only two receptions for 10 yards out of five targets, earned an 81.9 overall grade, marking his highest since Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Defensive end Chase Young achieved his highest overall grade (86.3) since joining the 49ers in October and his highest mark since Week 7 against the New York Giants (90.0). Currently at 80.9, Young is on track to achieve his highest-ever pass-rushing grade for a season.

Defensive tackle Kevin Givens earned his highest overall grade (84.1) since Week 12 of the 2021 season (92.4), while defensive end Nick Bosa has achieved a grade of 82.4 (this week) or higher and a pass-rushing grade of 82.3 (this week) or higher in four of his last five games. Bosa earned a game-high eight pressures. The next closest players were 49ers defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw and Seahawks defensive tackle Leonard Williams, each with four. Bosa was credited with 1.5 sacks to go along with his six tackles, a tackle for a loss, and two quarterback hits.

Where the 49ers landed in PFF's latest power ranking

By David Bonilla
Apr 22

While it would be foolish to declare that the San Francisco 49ers lack any deficiencies, the team remains one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. That alone is enough to place them high on media power rankings. The truth is, power rankings mean very little at this stage in the offseason. Yes, free agency has come and gone, but NFL rosters are about to undergo further changes this week, with the 2024 NFL Draft slated for Thursday. Pro Football Focus' Amelia Probst posted a power ranking based on the analytics site's data on each roster and the offseason roster moves made so far. The San Francisco 49ers came in at No. 2, behind only the Kansas City

Insider reveals the best offers the 49ers received for Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla
Apr 26

The first round of the 2024 NFL Draft has concluded, and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk remains on the San Francisco 49ers roster, as many anticipated. However, both general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan were receptive to listening to offers from other teams, and indeed, teams made inquiries. Ultimately, the offers weren't enticing enough to persuade the 49ers to part ways with Aiyuk, who served as the team's top receiver last season. However, Matt Barrows of The Athletic provided some insight into the compensation other teams discussed in preliminary talks with the 49ers. "The team took several phone calls for Aiyuk in the run-up

7-round mock draft has 49ers adding 2 legacy players

By David Bonilla
Apr 22

Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus unveiled a seven-round mock draft for the San Francisco 49ers, addressing several key needs for the team in the 10-pick projection. Interestingly, the mock draft sees the team adding two legacy players. But before delving into that, let's examine the first three selections. Sikkema has the 49ers shoring up their offensive line at pick No. 31 with the selection of former Arizona offensive tackle Jordan Morgan. Morgan allowed 14 pressures and two sacks in his 477 pass-blocking snaps at left tackle in 2023. He earned an impressive pass-blocking grade of 87.3 and an overall grade of

49ers draft eight players: Rapid reactions

By Marc Adams

The San Francisco 49ers have completed their 2024 draft. They were able to fill some holes and grab some players who have a chance to make an impact. And there appeared to be a theme throughout the draft. The 49ers selected players who have played a lot of college football, so some of them should be ready to go sooner rather than later. They also went after guys who have stayed on the field, meaning they seem to be staying away from players with injury histories. It's hard to blame them for that. Perhaps the most shocking part of the 49ers draft is that they didn't take a defensive lineman. I thought they would draft a run-stuffing defensive tackle, and also an edge rusher. But they didn't. Here are my rapid reactions—my quick observations
