Cirque Dreams Holidaze

The American Theatre Guild will present Cirque Dreams Holidaze, as part of the Broadway in South Bend series. Performers will bring to life a fantastical assortment of holiday storybook characters including reindeer, nutcrackers, and gingerbread people.

Featuring an ensemble of aerial circus acts, sleight-of-hand juggles, fun-loving skippers, breath-catching acrobats, and more, the Cirque Dreams Holidaze is fun for the whole family, featuring a multi-national cast.

Epic Holidaze

Epic Dance Studios presents its engaging production of Epic Holidaze, sponsored by Global Link Distribution during Elkhart's WinterFest.

The show features over 160 community dancers ages 6 through retirement years. Guest artists include the Rockerettes under the direction of Karen Stump, and a duet by Indiana University African American Dance Company members African American Dance Company — African American Arts, Jaylen Ray and Brianna Mendoza. Mendoza is a graduate of the Epic Dance Studios program.

A Chanticleer Christmas

Called “the world’s reigning male chorus” by The New Yorker magazine, the San Francisco-based, GRAMMY-winning ensemble Chanticleer will present “A Chanticleer Christmas,” the group’s most beloved program. The concert presents the power and mystery, warmth and intimacy of the season through Gregorian chant, Renaissance and contemporary gems, and traditional carols. Celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2018, Chanticleer is known around the world as “an orchestra of voices” for the seamless blend of 12 male voices ranging from soprano to bass and its original interpretations of vocal literature, from Renaissance to jazz and popular genres, as well as contemporary composition.

A Carpenters Christmas Show

Top Of The World is The World’s Premiere Tribute to The Carpenters. Fronted by singer Debbie Taylor, her Karen Carpenter vocal resemblance is absolutely astonishing. She is backed by a seven-piece band consisting of top-notch, professional industry musicians who have had amazing careers in their own right. The band members are all multi-instrumentalists and at times use 3 keyboards to recreate the incredibly complex arrangements created by Richard Carpenter. The attention to detail paired with saxophone, trumpet, flute, and many more instruments complete every song to perfection.

"It’s Christmas Eve, and the interstate in Virginia has closed due to major snowstorms. Several travelers are forced to seek shelter in a highway rest area. The rest area janitor is stuck there even though he just wants to get home to dinner.

But this special night has much in store for all of them.

With echoes of It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol, and the original Christmas story, this musical is uplifting, poignant and laugh-out-loud funny.

Holiday Dreams: A Spectacular Holiday Cirque!

More than a spellbinding holiday show, Holiday Dreams: A Spectacular Holiday Cirque has evolved into a cherished family tradition for everyone who loves the holiday season.

Created by Fernando Quevedo, the show was born out of a loving belief that people of all ages can come together to experience the enchantment of the holidays in a technologically advanced, fun, and exciting show. Quevedo grew up in a circus in Europe, moving to America and shifting his focus to the grandiosity and lavishness of Vegas shows.

By incorporating world-class performers, award-winning specialty acts, side-splitting comedy, and state-of-the-art technology, Holiday Dreams created cherished memories keeping the spirit of the holiday alive and well.

Lunchtime Live with Celia Weiss: Kimball Organ Concert

The Friends of The Lerner and Community Foundation of Elkhart County are pleased to welcome an Elkhart favorite, Celia Weiss, back on The Lerner’s 1924 Kimball Organ in this free community series.

Celia Weiss is one of few musical artists who hold the enviable record of having served as a soloist on two different musical instruments. A pianist and organist well known to local audiences, the artist has appeared on numerous occasions with the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, the IUSB Philharmonic, the Manchester University Symphony Orchestra, and in recitals throughout the area.

Weiss is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at IUSB for the Raclin School of the Arts where she teaches organ. She is a past recipient of the IUSB Merit Status and Outstanding Alumni Awards. She holds a B.M.E from Manchester College and a M.M. in Piano from Indiana University. An educator as well as a performer, she has taught music in the Elkhart and Goshen Community Schools and piano at Goshen College. Since 1975 she has held the position of Director of Music and Organist for the First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart. She is a frequent accompanist for the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra and performs several piano and organ concerts for the Lerner Theatre’s “Lunchtime Live!” each year.

Lunchtime Live is a free event presented by Friends of The Lerner and the Community Foundation of Elkhart County.
