Make district leprosy-free: Mysuru DC

Make district leprosy-free: Mysuru DC
Mysuru: Mysuru deputy commissioner KV Rajendra on Thursday stated that health department officials should work towards making the district leprosy-free through public awareness.
He advised the healthcare workers to diagnose the leprosy symptoms at the earliest to cure the cases.
Deputy commissioner, who presided over the preparatory meeting on the Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign-2024 at his office, said if anyone develops symptoms they should get tested at their nearest hospital.
“We should not show discrimination against the patients,” he said.
Diagnosis of leprosy at an early stage and appropriate treatment can prevent disability among the infected patients, he said. District health officer (DHO) PC Kumaraswamy was present.
