Queensland Symphony Orchestra
Redland Performing Arts Centre
Enjoy a majestic evening of classical music performed live when Queensland Symphony Orchestra returns to the Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) on Friday, February 16 with Worlds Collide.
From melodies as old as time to more contemporary masterworks, this stunning program will be performed in RPAC’s Concert Hall, which is renowned throughout south-east Queensland for its acoustic excellence.
Under the baton of guest conductor Douglas Boyd, Queensland Symphony Orchestra will perform Harry Sdraulig’s Torrent, a fanfare tense with the chaos of the modern age.
Soloists from within the Orchestra - Huw Jones (oboe), Irit Silver (clarinet), Nicole Tait (bassoon), and Timothy Allen-Ankins (horn) - offer a glimpse into a bygone era of classical elegance with the second movement of Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante.
Rounding out the evening's program is Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 (From the New World), which brims with the adventure of the Czech composer's years in America.
This night of orchestral magnificence is not to be missed!
